Luminosity Artist Collective, based in Surrey BC, is made up of 4 talented artists, who are:
Stephanie Alexandra Leah Albrecht Nancy Wright Leah Murray
Stephanie Alexandra – Fine Art Photographer
My passion and inspiration for photography really began when, as a little girl, I watched my Mother lay down on the sand to capture the sunset through a piece of driftwood using her Kodak Brownie. Many years later, as I looked upon nature with new eyes, I wondered how I could capture and keep the scenes and feelings. Then I remembered photography, which has charted my course ever since. My goal as a deaf photographic artist is to share that passion for life and the sense of wonder which drive my attempts to capture them. Colours, shapes and textures make up my moments, and I never tire of those: each image brings a new, fascinating perspective with it. I continue to learn and explore my art with great excitement and commitment to creativity.
My photographs have brought me local, national and now International recognition. My images have won awards from CAPA (the Canadian Association of Photographic Arts) including:
2025 – an Honour Award in Canada’s CAPA International Competition, both in the Fine Art category;
2024 – a Gold Medal National Award for my latest Audio Video entry and a 1st Merit Award
2019 & 2020 -1st, 2nd & 3rd Merit Awards from CAPA, and Top Awards from The North Shore Photographic Society
Since 2017, my work has been exhibited six times, variously in Squamish, Surrey, West Vancouver, North Vancouver and Vernon, BC.

Leah Albrecht – Mixed Media Artist / Painter / Photographer
Until recently, my main creative outlet was photography, capturing the natural beauty of the seas, shores, forests, and wildlife of British Columbia’s Lower Mainland and Hornby Island.
In 2016, I began volunteering with a local non-profit group in Surrey, which deepened my involvement in the arts community.
By 2022, I had begun deeply exploring non-representational acrylic painting and mixed media, discovering new ways to exercise my creativity. My background in small business has been a helpful foundation as I navigate this artistic journey.
I value the friendships I’ve built with fellow artists and look forward to taking part in more exhibits, art fairs, and community events in the coming years.

Nancy Wright – Acrylic/Watercolour Painter, Charcoal/Pastels/Creative Mixed Media artist
Whether it’s in her backyard garden or the mountain scenery she glimpses in her travels, Nancy takes photographs of Nature to fuel her imagination. Having been painting since she was 14 years old, she enjoys the way paint blends and adapts, allowing for an endless possibility of styles and treatments.
The pivotal moment for Nancy was in Grade 10 art class, realizing creating was a matter of experimentation, mixed with trial and error, and joyful surprises! Also coming from generations that walked everywhere, and played outside all day, an appreciation of nature developed.
As a young adult she ventured to Victoria where she completed an extensive two-year Visual Arts Program at Camosun College. A natural progression for her was to get a job that had some creativity involved, which Nancy did as a picture framer in Sidney, BC. Here she was surrounded by creativity and original artwork, and hands on experience further fueled her love of art and inquisitive nature. This in turn led her back to Vancouver, where she spent the next 10 years making a living at this, until marriage in ’95, and the birth of her first child in ’98.
After many years in these roles, she returned fervently to her art, taking online courses, night school classes, joining the Surrey Arts Council, Artswest, Surrey Art Gallery, South Delta Artists Guild, and she is now also an Exhibiting Member at The Federation of Canadian Artists.
She has entered many contests, exhibitions, and local art shows.
Her hope as an artist is to make everyone aware, through her art, of the incredible beauty of nature.
