Product Shoots
Product Shoots can be done either in situ or in my studio space. In situ formal product shoots require me to bring my camera, lenses, lighting and backdrops to your location, so mileage and travel time are charged in addition to my hourly rate for the setup, the shoot and the processing time (costs for one photo-assistant if more than 30 small items, 15 medium sized, or 10 large items are needed). A rule of thumb is to calculate for medium-sized items that can be moved around by no more than two people — about 15 of these will take 35 minutes for setup, two and one half hours to shoot plus up to three hours of post-shoot processing time to ensure that everything you get is “picture perfect”. Items of less than 18 square inches in any direction can be dropped off at my offices by the owner, so no mileage or travel time will be charged for these items. Hourly shoot rates for myself and one assistant are $85.00, travel time is $0.49/km (calculated from Surrey [Guildford], BC). Post-shoot processing time is billed at $45.00/hr. Shoot and setup time for up to twenty items is two hours at $60/hr, with the usual post-processing of up to three hours after shooting is done at $45/hr. |
